(Excerpt from a lecture given during the Gaura Purnima festival, Zagreb, 3/16/06)
Behind Lord Caitanya’s dancing is an expression of the feeling "My dear Lord, I want to meet You."
When Krishna hears a devotee formulating the request "My dear Lord, I want to meet You, I am now separated, but I want to meet You," He comes running from the spiritual world into the life of the devotee.
This Caitanya bhakti is expressed in the chanting and dancing of Mahaprabhu. Sometimes people say: "Why so much chanting and dancing?" It is the song of love and the dance of love that were brought by Caitanya Mahaprabhu into this world. What better way to spend life in prison than singing and dancing?
